The Importance of Supplying Electrolytes in The Feed

The Meat-type birds used by today's industry have a higher electrolyte demand than the bird used 7 to 8 years ago.

Broiler breeder parent stock are showing electrolyte imbalance during the onset of sexual maturity; calcium utilization may be affected along with protein utilization.

Processing yield, feed conversion and broiler body weight will be positively influenced by inclusion of electrolytes.

There is possibly an influence on DOA'S to the processing plant.  More data is needed to verify this fact.

It is important to have electrolytes available to the bird at all times, however during times of extreme heat stress provide water-soluble vitamins and electrolytes through the water.

The cardiac muscle is influenced by potassium concentration.  Better mortality during cold months has been reported from complexes using electrolytes in the feed.

During stress, egg shell, feed intake and water balance will be influenced in laying hens.
"There is nothing you can do to get us to remove your electrolytes from our formula.  We are having the best feed conversion ever."
